Vacation's over
Thursday - February 15, 2007

Now that this little mini-vacation is over, the Rangers can get back to work. They are going to be busy for sure, with 10 games in the next 18 days.

According to all reports, the flu will not keep anyone out of the lineup tonight.

Let's get right to the news:

NY Post: If the Rangers are going to make the playoffs, they need to win tonight in Carolina. Mathematically, it's not a must-win game, but as the Rangers make their playoff push, they are placing importance on every game.

NY Daily News: The All-Star break clearly was one of those pauses that refreshes the Rangers. The four days without a game they've had since Saturday? Hardly as desirable, though we'll see just how detrimental.

The Journal News: "I think the biggest part to having two power plays is they're both different, and they're tougher for teams to defend against," said Avery, who has a goal and an assist in three games as a Rangers. "They really don't know what's coming at them, so it's tougher to adjust."

NY Newsday: The Hurricanes in Raleigh tonight. The Flyers on Saturday. The Blackhawks Sunday afternoon. The Devils next Tuesday. Four games in six nights and Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist - in the cage for the last 11 - will likely start all of them.

Canadien Press: The Rangers, who play at Carolina on Thursday night, feel they're primed for a run. "I do feel that way. It's not just yapping, it's the real deal," Rangers head coach Tom Renney said Wednesday. "I've seen the way we've played in the last two weeks. If we were in the playoffs and they were starting tomorrow, I would feel very, very good about playing anybody."

The Rodent looks at the playoff situation and the games-in-hand.

in addition to plaing the game, the Rangers will have to do some scoreboard watching afterwards as well, with the Maple Leafs, Islanders, and Lightning all in action.

Tonight, it's the Rangers and Hurricanes in Carolina. The puck drops at 7:00 pm EST.
