NEW YORK - DECEMBER 18: Henrik Lundqvist #30 of the New York Rangers is greeted by his teammates after a 4-0 shutout against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Madison Square Garden December 18, 2007 in New York City. (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)

While I'm pleased as punch that the NYR played an inspired, Avery like game complete with hits and solid defense, let's not get too emotional about the win. The Pens didn't look good and it was mentioned more than once that the Pens are suffering from the Flu.

However, one can't help but notice that when this team listens to the coach....and actually does what the coach asks, they win.

My player of the game? Coach Tom Renny.

Tonight only solidifies my belief that this team will have to play hard nosed, lunch pail type hockey with team defense as the cornerstone. They need to hit and show passion.

Kudos to Henke and the D for a sixth shutout this season.

Oh.....how nice was it to see raised sticks at the end of a game at MSG? You can all relax if only for one night. I plan on downing a few, watching the Devils out on the west coast (Luongo vs. Brodeur) and maybe having sex with the wife.

Hey, all it takes is a dollar and a dream, right?

Don't forget about the latest Rodent - Bird podcast.......get it while it's hot....er, something.

Beer me.
