Normally, a Saturday evening game vs. Montreal is a must watch in my house along with what is usually a jam packed schedule of great hockey all day and night. But I can't watch the Rangers tonight. I just can't.
Why, do you ask?
Could it be because Sean Avery is still out? Nope.
Perhaps because Straka won't be playing? Naw, that's not it.
OK, being a former goaltender I can no longer watch Henke lose his King status. Not a bad choice, but wrong.
It has to be because the Rangers will lose and it's too hard to watch? Yeah.....no. Although that's not a bad reason.
Could it be that we've seen all of Hollweg's goals for the season in the last game? Funny, but no.
I'll DVR the game tonight and miss it live for the first time this season. Instead I'm taking Dad to see the Tampa Bay Lightning play the Florida Panthers. Not exactly an Islander-Ranger game, but close. These two teams have developed quite the rivalry and I do expect some sparks to fly. I'll watch the Rangers when we get home......if by then there is a reason to watch. Frankly, watching the Rangers these days is akin to water-boarding and the CIA just may destroy the recording before I get home.
Don't get me wrong, I hope like hell for a Ranger win.........but I'm expecting the worst.
