As nice as it was to beat the Isles for the first time this year, it was more important to win no matter who the opponent was. Those were two big points to grab.
I had just finished explaining why Malik has been booed in MSG when he showed poor skating skills, was out of position and sure enough, took a penalty. I have a hard time figuring out why anyone would defend this guy.....I give up.
I'm still thinking about the period of time where the Islanders held the puck in the offensive zone and got scoring chance after scoring chance. Escaping that without giving up a goal was the difference in the game....well, that and the fact that we scored more goals than them. But I got the feeling that the Isles would build on the goal which never came. Thank goodness....and Henke.
